SINTI HOLO (SONICA FESTIVAL 2021, GLASGOW TRAMWAY)

Live audio visual performance of the Giramata EP, performed with Jenny Moore (drums/voice), Luisa Gerstein (synths/voice) and Sonia Killmann (audio-reactive visuals)

My piece Sinti Holo was named after the Choctaw and Chickasaw stories I’ve read about Sint Holo, the great horned water serpent, who might drag you to your death or bestow you with spiritual gifts. The many natures of water ran through my experiments and explorations during a Cryptic Glasgow residency at Cove Park, where I gathered and created imagery for a live audio-visual performance and expansion of my EP Giramata for Sonica Festival. At Cove Park I met musician and visual artist, Sonia Killmann, and we turned the movements of water, light and shadow into a flowing, pulsating accompaniment to the music, with Sonia further developing these through their research into music-reactive visual programming. The final collaborative performance was given at Sonica Festival at Glasgow’s Tramway.

Made with the support of Cove Park and Cryptic Glasgow.
